“No Taxation without Representation”: The Boston Tea Party

In this lesson, students will explore the Boston Tea Party as a pivotal protest leading to the American Revolution, examining the events, causes, and impacts of the colonial resistance to British taxes. Through a hands-on gallery walk analyzing primary sources, classroom simulations, and group discussions, students will develop an understanding of the tensions between the 13 colonies and Great Britain, the meaning of “no taxation without representation,” and the role of civic action in shaping history.
