Federal Election Campaign Act
This is a 1971 law governing the financing of federal elections. Amended
three times in the 1970s and once in 2002 with the passage of the {Bipartisan
Campaign Reform Act}, the statute requires candidates to disclose the
identities of their donors and say how they are spending the money they’ve
raised.
