What would you tweet about Constitution?

Sept. 10, 2012

The original, unamended Constitution is brief, containing only 4,543 words, including the signatures. Debated and drafted over four months in Philadelphia by 55 delegates, the document created a federal government that has endured since the Constitution’s signing on Sept. 17, 1787.

Today, more of us are expressing our thoughts in 140 characters or fewer on Twitter. To celebrate Constitution Day, how would you sum up the Constitution in a tweet? If you were a Founding Father who had just signed the document, what would you tell your followers on Twitter? If you had to write the next amendment to the Constitution – and limit it to 140 characters – what it would be and what would you say?

I would say, Watch out for snakes in the office, the goverment is no one, depending the circumstances, to trust. Thats why I'm giving you people most the power so use it correctly and whatever you do, just don't break these amendments but lot's of people will and we have to make sure that doesnt happen. Don't destroy yourselves with power. Remember, Everyone is equal!

If I had to tweet about the constitution, I would say “The constitution is here to help us not hurt us. By these leaders putting there life on the line, they are letting you guys know about our rights as United State citizens. People use the constitution for many different things. There are rules and guidelines in the constitution that made America what it is today” !

If I had to tweet about the Constitution I would tweet that this is a historical document that people should #follow! I would tweet that the Constitution is a document that people now and later should and will appreciate! It has made America the great place that it is and shaped our nation. I would want everyone to '@' me and give me a cool shout out and a "thank you" for signing a very important piece of paper! If I also had to write the next amendment it would be about the importance of animals, and the gift they are from God. If that didn't work out how I wanted I would tweak the insurance policies. I would make it more affordable and more convenient for people especially if your diagnosed with some sort of cancer or brain tumor.

If I were to tweet about the Constitution to sum it up, I would say, “Finally, a new government that works! We can now live with liberty. #WeThePeople.” If I were a founding father who just signed the Constitution and wanted to tweet about the new document, I would say, “No more Articles of Confederation! #takethat.”

If I was a founding father who had just written and/or signed the Constitution, I would have a lot to say. However, if limited to twitter's 140 characters, I would have to say something along the lines of: "Here we are, world. A newly born country, yet proud and true. Here, on this day, we have made our own history."

I f I were to tweet something about the constitution, I would start off by saying THANK YOU, CONSTITUTION! It's because of this document we have the liberty and rights we have today. If I had to make the next amendment, I would make it based on immigration. It would say, “Illegal immigrants reserve the right to human rights. ” Basically, I would make sure that people from other countries can come in to the states, and not have the confrontation we have today. There shouldn't be any families, or children suffering due to the way immigration is handled today. If there is an immigrant found illegally in the states, then the case can be taken to court, and given enough time to evacuate the states, or find the way to stay legally. I understand the law is the law, but if one things isn't working- then I think things need to be changed.

If I were to sum up the Constitution in a tweet I would say that it is the most holy document in politics. If i was a founding father who had just signed the constitution i would be telling my followers in twitter that finally a fair and equal document had been set up for citizens to have their rights clarified and protected and also the states will remain protected from anyone who tries to conquer them. They had finalized the government as the people who have the last say on everything. If i was to add an amendment to the Constitution it would be that all the people have full and public consent of who is being elected like in the supreme court, senate, and other positions in the house because we rarely have a say n elections because we don't hear much about them and in some cases like the judges we don't really pick who gets elected.

Summing up the Constitution is hard in it's own, but 140 characters is even more difficult. However, if I had to sum it up in a tweet I would say, "The #Constitution rocks for giving us a voice as citizens while giving us guidelines to live by. *insert link*" If I were a founding father I would tweet: "Woohoo! Got rid of the Articles of Confederation! #AboutTime" As for adding amendments to the Constitution, I don't think I'd add anything so my tweet would be something like, "The Constitution is awesome as is, it doesn't need any #amendments anytime soon (:"

I would sum up the constitution in a tweet by saying, "The constitution is America's bible." If I were a founding father I would tweet a tweet saying, "The constitution has now be been finalized and we now have official rights and our own Constitution!! #GoAmerica" Also,if I had to write the next amendment as a tweet I would say, "I'm memory of Alice Paul, let us women have our rights. I propose the Equal Right Amendment be ratified. #AmericasCaretakers" Women today are still overpowered by men, but there is always a great women behind a powerful man. Women don't get the credit for what they do or even get to have the same oppritunites as men do.

Honestly, I don't think you could express anything that involves the Constitution in a 140 characters or less. People today would find a loop hole some way or some how. You can sum it up in a tweet by saying something like "Freedom is America," but that's really all you can do. If I were a founding father, I would tell my followers that I have supported establishing a new system of government & that it is a wise choice to do that. If I were to write a new amendment, this would be my amendment. In our new nation, one may have the right to have a job & establish a living, regardless of race, religion or gender.
