Sunnylands Constitution Project
Offering an array of resources including books, DVDs, and interactive Web guides, the Sunnylands’ Constitution project deepens students’ understanding of the nation’s founding document. Students and teachers can find easy-to-understand descriptions of each article and amendment, a video conversation on the Constitution featuring Supreme Court Justices Sandra Day O'Connor and Stephen Breyer, and much more.
Annenberg Civics Education Initiative
Created by State of the Art Inc., this DVD contains five programs that introduce viewers to the Annenberg Foundation’s Civic Education Initiative. The programs profile high school teachers and students as they launch a new kind of civic education, illuminating both the benefits and challenges of giving students hands-on public policy experience and connection with real community issues. Student Voices
Student Voices is a national youth civic engagement initiative created to address the problem of declining political participation and nonvoting by young people. The project helps high school students become informed about issues in local government and candidates in local elections.
MindZone: Cope.Care.Deal.
CopeCareDeal.org, produced by the Sunnylands’ Adolescent Mental Health Initiative, provides expert information on mental health issues including mood disorders, schizophrenia, and anxiety disorders for adolescents and their loved ones. The site offers accurate, trustworthy content as well as hotline information, an 'ask the expert' feature, and personal stories from teens.
FactCheck.org
A nonpartisan 'consumer advocate' for voters, Annenberg Political FactCheck aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics. The project monitors the factual accuracy of what is said by politicians, advocates, and newsmakers in their TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews, and news releases. Includes issue briefs, links to essential resources, streaming multimedia, and an 'Ask FactCheck' feature.
Justice Learning
An award-winning interactive website, Justice Learning includes audio from NPR's Justice Talking, articles from the New York Times Learning Network, a guide to the Constitution, and detailed historical timelines. Use primary source material, standards-based lesson plans, and the Democracy Diaries (one-minute audio clips) to kick-start classroom conversations.
